Photos that I took in my sister’s basement in Pennsylvania have been kicking around in my studio since 2012. I am often drawn to looking at them for the sheer brilliance of how they convey architectural space, light, colour, and the clutter of stacked, suspended, and tangled objects. To make the posters “The Energy of Space”, I painted text and colour, including a coloured sphere with a smiling face (like a pose in meditation), into each of four photos. Each print offers thanks to visual form and to lost and forgotten places.
