Cruz composes a crude and comical variation of Goya’s Saturn Devouring His Son. Using humour and a sense of riddled staidness, the composition attempts to break the dark seriousness and mythological origin from its original counterpart by substituting characters imagined by Cruz. Hand-drawn using a mouse and a pad tracker, the boorish lines and garish colors depict an alternative universe seemingly devoid of art historical cues and references.
